The History of Lee

Lee's history traces back to 1889 in Salina, Kansas, USA, when Henry David Lee established the H.D. Lee Mercantile Company, which evolved into the Lee clothing brand. Lee e.g. pioneered the use of zipper fly in jeans in the 1920s, adding convenience and functionality to denim garments. During the 40s and 50s, Lee gained popularity among the younger generation with the introduction of the iconic Lee Rider jeans, and Rider and Storm Rider jackets, all of which had strong Western aesthetics.
