The Classic Outdoor Shirt
Life on a ship deck was and is a rough business. That's why clothing had to be especially designed to withstand the elements. As a result, certain materials and fits become established in seafaring over the decades. The CPO Shirt is one of these garments.
Originally, the CPO Shirts were made from wool. For this CPO Shirt, however, Pike Brothers has used moleskin woven in Germany. Moleskin is a very robust flannel-type fabric made from 100% cotton. The one side is brushed, which makes it very soft and comfortable to wear. The brushing makes it almost look like suede or mole skin. This is where the name moleskin comes from.
