Seriously Capable
Alpha Industries military-inspired parka in black, built around the functional details that have made Alpha outerwear a classic. Long cut, substantial construction and a detachable insulated lining make this a particularly versatile cold-weather coat.
The parka features a large adjustable hood with faux-fur trim, heavy front zipper with snap-button storm flap, large angled utility pockets and adjustable waist. Olive military-style details inside the hood and lining give the otherwise black coat a nice contrast.
Remove the lining for milder weather and put it back in when winter gets serious – essentially two levels of coat in one.
Alpha Industries – Genuine Military Heritage
Alpha Industries was founded in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1959, originally manufacturing outerwear under contract for the U.S. Department of Defense. In fact, one of Alpha’s very first military contracts was for the N-3B cold-weather parka. The company later became closely associated with some of the most famous pieces of American military clothing, including the MA-1 flight jacket and M-65 field coat.
Alpha began producing clothing for the civilian market in 1970, and its military designs gradually crossed over from genuine service clothing into streetwear and fashion. That background is why even Alpha’s later civilian parkas tend to carry plenty of unmistakable military DNA.
