US-Made Bib-Front Shirt

Fancy walkin' around lookin' like John Wayne? Here we have a US-Made bib-front Western Shirt from the legendary Rockmount! This here beauty is fashioned out of black cotton & polyester (50/50) with some slick white trim. That bib is sewn on one side, so them pearl snaps only work on the other, making sure that the bib stays on no matter what.

The shirt is in good condition with no flaws. The black is fading a tiny bit, but it's still black, not gray.

So, what in tarnation is a Bib-Front Shirt, you ask?

Well, it's a shirt with a chest protector with buttons down on both sides. This nifty garment hails from the mid-1800s, when firefighters on both sides of the Atlantic wore them. That fancy "shield" front wasn't just for show – it offered some extra warmth and protection for their chests. During the US Civil War, these bib shirts were popular among soldiers, militias, and firemen. But surprisingly, cowboys didn’t take much of a shine to 'em. Fast forward to the golden age of TV and movie Westerns, and you'll spot these shirts on the big screen, most famously worn by the Duke himself, John Wayne, in a bunch of his films. Yeehaw!
