🌾 Plains by Ely & Walker – From Dry Goods to Cowboy Threads
Back in the 1880s, a pair of St. Louis businessmen—Frank Ely & David Walker—hitched their wagons to the booming dry-goods trade. Their company, Ely & Walker, became a powerhouse, shipping fabrics, uniforms, and ranch-ready goods across the frontier.
Outta that big ol’ warehouse came a line made just for the cowboys: Plains. While its sibling label Ely Cattleman hogged more of the spotlight, Plains kept riders outfitted in rugged snap shirts and sharp western duds. Think classic yokes, tough fabric, and the no-nonsense style you’d want when the cattle won’t quit bawlin’ and the sun’s settin’ low.
Today, a Plains shirt carries all that frontier grit—born from Ely & Walker’s century-old legacy—making it a piece of cowboy history you can still wear. 🌵✨
