Board Shirt

The Pendleton woolen "Board Shirt" is a downright must-have for anyone lookin’ to add some plaid perfection to their wardrobe! Made from 100% pure Pendleton virgin wool, this shirt’s got just the right mix of rugged charm and a dash of class to boot.

This particular gem is from 2013, and if you look closely, you’ll find a hidden treasure—Pendleton’s 150th Anniversary patch tucked right in the hem. Crafted in Mexico using good ol' US-made 100% virgin wool, this shirt might’ve been destined for the Japanese market, since the tag says Japan Size XL.  Be warned though, it fits a little snugger by Euro/US standards.

Unlike the older Pendleton shirts that needed more pamperin' at the dry cleaners, this one’s a bit more forgiving—it's machine washable! Just be sure to use the wool program and keep that water colder than a snake in a snowstorm.

As for condition, it’s struttin’ along just fine. Sure, it’s got a little character—two small holes on the back, but nothin' to fret about. They just add to that rugged elegance this shirt’s got goin’ on.

The Pendleton Board Shirt

The Pendleton Board Shirt is a legend in its own right. Back in the 50s, Pendleton whipped up this woolen wonder for surfers in chilly California waters. It was warm as a campfire on a cold night and stylish enough to turn heads from the beach to the bar. With its straight-cut hem, it was perfect for that laid-back, untucked look surfers loved. 

The Beach Boys were such big fans of Pendleton they originally called themselves "The Pendletones!" They famously wore Pendleton Board Shirts on the cover of their debut album "Surfin' Safari", released in 1962. The shirt became a symbol of cool, blending surf culture with timeless cowboy craftsmanship. Even today, it’s still a go-to for anyone who loves a bit of classic, rugged style.

Tag says "Japan Size XL" and "Fitted. We think that's by Euro standards you'd call it Large. If you compare it to US sizing, it's possibly a Medium. Check the measurements below to make sure it fits.
