🤠 The Lining Survived!

Well, partner, this is a special one. An original 60s/70s Sears Fringed Suede Jacket, made in the USA and preserved in remarkably fine condition. Cut from handsome warm brown suede, it's loaded with long Western fringe across the chest, pockets, sleeves and hem – exactly the sort of gloriously excessive cowboy jacket that made this era so much fun.

Big leather-covered buttons run down the front, while angled handwarmer pockets keep things practical. But the real prize is hiding inside: the original detachable dark brown sherpa-style lining, still present and attached by zipper. These removable liners had a habit of becoming separated from their jackets somewhere along the road, so finding an old Sears suede jacket with its matching liner still along for the ride is a mighty nice bonus.

Better yet, this one appears to have seen surprisingly little use. The suede, fringe and overall construction remain in excellent vintage condition, making this a true find for the vintage Western collector. 🌵

For generations, Sears, Roebuck and Co. brought clothing and equipment into American homes through its enormous mail-order catalogs. Sears developed numerous house labels over the decades, and Western-inspired clothing was firmly represented in its mid-century offerings. By the 1970s, Sears catalogs were selling everything from Western shirts to suede and leather outerwear, bringing cowboy style far beyond the ranch.
