The Filson Tin Cloth Field Jacket in Dark Tan is proper working outerwear, built for hunting, outdoor work and days when the weather and undergrowth are equally uncooperative. Its main armour is Filson's legendary 14 oz oil-finish Tin Cloth, made to resist rain, snow, thorns and serious abrasion.

The shoulders use a one-piece, seam-free construction to improve water resistance where the weather hits hardest. The collar and high-set handwarmer pockets are lined with heavyweight 24 oz virgin Mackinaw Wool, providing warmth even in wet conditions.

Then there are the pockets. Two large expandable front pockets can each swallow a box of 12-gauge shells and feature internal dividers for organisation. Around the back is a zippered, coated-nylon-lined game pocket with side access. No birds involved? It works equally well for gloves, scarves and other trail cargo.

A two-way zipper and storm flap close the front, and the jacket accepts compatible Filson liners and a hood, sold separately. In short, this is less a jacket with pockets and more a piece of field equipment that happens to have sleeves.

🧼 Care

Do not wash or dry clean. Brush away dirt or wipe clean with a damp cloth. Rewax as needed to maintain maximum water resistance.

Because of the oil finish, avoid prolonged contact with light-coloured fabrics, particularly in warm weather, as oils may transfer.
